PPM Services For Landscape Professionals

1. What can PPM do for you?

Imagine having a detailed site plan that you know is completely accurate, sitting on your desk or your computer screen as you start each project. Sound like a dream come true? It’s within your reach – and PPM can help you get there.
It can be frustrating trying to find the time to measure a property yourself, or trying to decipher an old wrinkled site plan that hasn’t been accurate since Jimmy Carter was president. Not to mention all the time that is wasted trying to work with a different type of plan on every project. |
 |
PPM has been working with landscape professionals since 2002, measuring over 4000 residences and commercial buildings in the process. We understand that keeping a client happy is the most important thing a landscape architect or contractor (or measurer) can do. Your clients expect service from you that is high quality, fast and professional. You should expect no less from your subcontractors.
|
|
PPM provides measuring services, as-built plans, and CAD drafting – quickly, accurately and affordably. We understand what elements are important to landscape design, and we understand that great service is just as important as great plans. Incorporating PPM into your process will make the design/build experience easier and more enjoyable for you and your client.
So what can PPM do for you? In a nutshell, PPM can free you up to do what you do best. Whether that’s spending time with your clients, creating that perfect design, or managing your business, PPM can help you focus on the areas that you enjoy most.

2. The PPM Process

A relationship with PPM starts like any other relationship – with introductions. First, we want to get to know you and your business in order to best determine how we can help you. We’ll meet you at your office or on-site at a project to show you how we work and get an idea of how you work. We pride ourselves in our ability to adapt our plans and our services to meet our clients’ needs.
When you have a project for PPM, here’s a quick step-by-step of how the process usually works.
- PROJECT INFO – You can email us, use our online form, or call us with the address and basic scope of your project.
- PROJECT INFO (if necessary). We will research the property using assessor’s information and satellite photos. At this point we will call/email you to clear up any questions or get more detailed project information from you.
- ESTIMATE – Once all details are clear, PPM will provide you or your client (usually whomever is paying) with an estimate for our services. It usually takes us about 24 hours to get the estimate out via fax or email.
- SCHEDULING – If the estimate is approved, we are ready to schedule the on-site visit. The time frame between getting the signed estimate and PPM visiting the site averages 3-5 days. If you’d like, the measurer can meet you on-site to review any important details prior to measuring.
- CAD DRAFTING – After hand-sketching and measuring the property, the measurer brings the sketch back to the CAD Department. The CAD Department will draft all property elements and prepare them for output. It’s at this point that we can customize plans however you’d like, using your styles, your symbols, even your titleblock.
- OUTPUT – The finished product can be provided to you in a number of forms:
|
CAD file
We can provide you or your client with a DWG or DXF file (PPM currently uses AutoCAD Land Desktop 2008, but we can save down as low as Version 2000).
Plot
We can also provide you or your client with a printed plot of the plan, typically done at 8th scale as a 24” x 36” bond print.
PDF file
With a PDF, you can view the plan on your computer, or you can easily forward the file to a local printer where they can make it as big or as small as you need.
|
 |
|
ADDITIONAL SERVICES – After your plan is completed to your satisfaction, PPM is always available to help you with additional aspects of your landscape plan production – from conceptual plans, to planting and irrigation plans, our CAD department is always ready to keep your project moving.

3. Small Client or Big Client?

PPM was started with the goal of serving small, individual landscape architects and designers. Our founder’s mother is a self-employed landscape architect, and PPM was started with professionals like her in mind. As a result, we have always put a heavy emphasis on personal customer service and an ability to adapt our plans to fit the needs of each particular client. Today, we are proud to serve over 100 self-employed landscape professionals, helping them succeed in the business that they love.
|
|
As PPM has grown, we have been called upon by large landscaping companies that are looking for a way to streamline their workflow, improve their efficiency and serve their clients better. We have the manpower to handle a high volume of projects and the experience and customer service it takes to serve a large company. If your company takes on many landscaping projects, PPM has the services you need to keep yourself informed and organized. Our Customer Portal provides 24 / 7 project management, and our service contracts can provide your company with price and turn-around-time guarantees.
Regardless of the size of your business, PPM has the services to meet your needs.
