Most architects settle for whatever method is the “easiest” for obtaining their As-Builts. On some projects, they will use plans supplied by the owner, and try to verify them and convert them to a more usable format. Then for other projects, they will measure the building themselves, or send an employee out to do the job. Sometimes they will include certain details, other times they won’t.
